How is DeoxIT® used with welding wire?

If the metal used in welding wire is perfectly clean, the weld is much stronger. For this reason, a Japanese car manufacturer uses DeoxIT® in its processes.

DeoxIT® accomplishes two things:

1. It keeps the surface perfectly clean, and a clean surface makes for a much stronger welded joint; and one that can be done at lower temperatures or shorter welding times. It also takes more energy to break through that layer of oxidation.

2. DeoxIT® is used in for treating the welding wire in storage for protection, and just prior to the welding process.
