Malfunctioning Nikon 950 Cool Pix digital camera

I have a Nikon Cool Pix digital camera with a horizontal ring slide to turn the camera on and select auto, manual or slide viewer (all the same ring).

When turning the ring to the 1st position, nothing happens - ditto for the others. Before it finally failed, it could be turned on by putting downward pressure on the ring as I turned it, but no longer.

The camera body is hard, composite plastic, with very little, if any, clearance between ring and camera body.

A Xerox Tech suggested DeoxIT® contact cleaner in case the contacts are just dirty or oxidized. Which of your fine products would work best for my situation?

Thanks,

D. Berran
