Cannot get the CircuitWriter Pen to start working

After shaking the CircuitWriter pen for almost a minute, I cannot get it to start working. Please advise.

Tap the pen gently on a solid surface to free the ball in the barrel, and shake the pen for a good 60 seconds to get the ball moving freely.

Prior to storing the CircuitWriter, gently remove whatever solution may have accumulated and dried on the tip with a clean lint-free cloth dipped in alcohol. Store the pen in an upright position at about a 30°angle, if possible.
