Circuit Breaker Treatment

Is DeoxIT® GOLDrecommended for treating circuit breakers where they connect to the service box?
......

DeoxIT® GOLD is formulated for plated (critical) applications where there is minute oxidation present. If the oxidation is visible, pre-treating with DeoxIT® contact cleaner is recommended.

As a frame of reference, DeoxIT® GOLD has a 0.5% cleaning action vs a 20% cleaning action for DeoxIT®.

ELECTRONIC Circuit Breaker:
For general maintenance, every 6-months or so, the DeoxIT® would be the appropriate choice. REMEMBER to turn off the power prior to treating the surface.

KNIFE SWITCH Circuit Breaker:
When you require a long-lasting treatment to be used in severe environments, apply DeoxIT®, followed by DeoxIT® TYPE L260 paste (#L260Cp) with copper particles.

1. Turn off power at main source.
2. Apply DeoxIT® contact cleaner in either the original D5 (flushing action - slow dry) OR DN5, the non-flammable (quick dry, non-drip) version.
3. When all contaminants have been removed, apply DeoxIT® TYPE L260 paste.
