DeoxIT® DeoxIT® GOLD & DeoxIT® SHIELD - Rule of Thumb

As easy as 1-2-3

Turn system off and disconnect from power source.

Oxidized metal connectors:

1. Apply DeoxIT® contact cleaner to the contact surface. If the surface is heavily oxidized, leave the DeoxIT® on overnight, if possible.
2. The following day, remove any contaminants with a lint-free swab or cloth and "canned" (compressed) air if necessary.
3 When no contaminants are evident on the swab or cloth, apply 1-2 bursts of DeoxIT®.

Oxidized plated metal connectors (i.e. gold or other precious metal):

1 Apply DeoxIT® to the contact surface. If the surface is heavily oxidized, leave the DeoxIT® on overnight, if possible.
2. The following day, remove any contaminants with a lint-free swab and "canned" (compressed) air if necessary.
3. When no contaminants are evident on the swab or cloth, 1-2 bursts DeoxIT® GOLD. Maintain thereafter with DeoxIT® GOLD.

New or clean plated metal connectors:
Apply DeoxIT® GOLD to the surface, and maintain as needed with DeoxIT® GOLD.

Oxidized connectors subjected to extended temperatures, (i.e., vacuum tubes, lamp sockets, etc.). REMEMBER to confine solution to the pin connector/contact surfaces, avoiding other vacuum tube surfaces:

1 Apply DeoxIT® to the surface. If the area is heavily oxidized, leave the DeoxIT® on overnight, if possible.
2. The following day, remove any contaminants with a lint-free swab or cloth and "canned" (compressed) air if necessary.
3. When no contaminants are evident on the swab or cloth, apply 1-2 bursts DeoxIT® GOLD GxL. Maintain thereafter with DeoxIT® GOLD GxL.

DeoxIT® does not necessarily remove any superficial discoloration caused by oxidation.

Wipe off excess product with a clean, lint-free cloth when using 100% solutions.
