DeoxIT® DN5 - in Harsh Tropical Conditions
"I've used virtually all other products that claim what DeoxIT® does, but they always fall short on results."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAIG DeoxIT® DN5 - Nonflammable Contact/Connector Treatment -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I use the DeoxIT® DN5 spray at work where we have industrial computers with multiple connections to peripheral devices, as well as on the outside of our LPG Tankers. It is the ONLY product I've used that has stood up to Hawaii's intense tropical weather conditions, including salt spray and storms.
When manufacturers tout their products by telling us about their accelerated 20-year corrosion testing (24-hour salt spray testing), I laugh at them. Their products last maybe one month in our tropical climate. I've used DeoxIT® for about 12 years now on our tankers and NOT ONE CONNECTION FAILED due to weather conditions when DN5 was applied.
I've used it on wet telephone connections when the water poured onto the protector box, flooding the Tip and Ring connections. Simply spraying liberally over these wet contacts, while being pounded by wind-driven rain, restored my telephone connection with no static.
When my old Ford got it's distributor cap wet from accidentally driving thru a deep puddle, shooting DeoxIT ® DN5 inside the cap, rotor and points restored spark. I recommend this product to everyone including my Marine buddies who have corrosion problems with their CB or Marine radio aerial lead-ins. I keep a can in my glove compartment and have used it to start cars in rain storms here in Hawaii.
I've used virtually all other products that claim what DeoxIT® DN5 does but they always fall short on results; even under long term testing (2-3 years) at my job.
I've just recommended this product and have listed your URL on a BMW enthusiasts bulletin board because I've used DeoxIT® DN5 on my VW and BMW Mass Air Flow sensors with fantastic results.
The MAS senses airflow to the throttle body, and a vane moves across a resistive path made of carbon. When the MAS senses more air flow to the engine it tells the onboard computer to enrich or make lean the air/fuel mixture. When the MAS has a bad connection, it sends erroneous information to the computer and it “leans out” the engine causing it to be starved for fuel during acceleration.
As you can tell, a clean MAS means better performance and economy for your car, and most of today's cars are equipped with some sort of MAS.
I only wish you could make a can of DN5 in an 18 or 20 oz can. This stuff is great and I go through a case in no time. Whatever you do please don't stop production of DeoxIT® products!
One thought, I know you make wipes saturated with DeoxIT® solution, but as a user of your products, I would like to see a thin mylar burnishing sheet impregnated with D5. You would slip this sheet between contacts and slide it out cleaning and preserving the contact, without affecting surrounding areas. I have used the liquid bottle with a needle applicator, but it doesn't clear the oxidation as well as a spray or a burnishing tool.
Thanks for a wonderful product,
