Ribbon Cable for Computer Application
I have a very flexible ribbon cable with thin copper traces that connects the motherboard to an LCD screen in an Apple eMate 300 computer. Due to a design flaw, the hinge mechanism has damaged several of the traces and I need a way to repair them. Will the CircuitWriter pen do the job?
The cable does flex somewhat ,but I plan to modify the hinge slightly to reduce contact. .....
The CircuitWriter is not really suitable for this particular application because it is not very flexible.
The recommendation would be to give it a try rather than replacing the ribbon cable. If you choose to go this route, you would apply the CircuitWriter trace, cure it per package directions, then apply the CircuitSealer trace, and cure it in the same manner.
