Intermittent Connections on Deck Mounted Antenna Connector
I have a mast top antenna on my sail boat, and sail in a salt water environment. The antenna wire connects to a deck mounted connector, and recently I have been getting intermittent reception. I believe the cause is either signal loss through the connection or poor connection. Would one of your products help? Also, should I use one of your products on my outboard motor's spark plug connections? .....
The maintenance program we recommend is as follows: 1. DeoxIT® (to clean the area). 2. DeoxIT® SHIELD (to seal the area); and If the surface is pitted and corroded: 3. DeoxIT® TYPE M260 grease (#M260Cp) with copper particles, as a final step, for additional protection due to harsh environmental issues inherent in marine applications. OR If the surface is pitted and corroded, but a conductive surface is not appropriate: DeoxIT® TYPE M260 grease (#M260Qp) with quartz particles, as a final step. OR If the surface is NOT pitted and corroded: DeoxIT® TYPE M260 grease (#M260Np) with no particles, as a final step.
NOTE: ALL sources of power, motors, etc., should be turned off.
DeoxIT® may also be used for the spark plug connections, but once again, ALL sources of power, motors, etc., should be turned off.
NOTE: DeoxIT® GOLD (formerly ProGold) DeoxIT® SHIELD (formerly PreservIT) DeoxIT® FaderLube (formerly CaiLube MCL) DeoxIT® Grease Type M260 & L260 Paste (formerly CaiLube Grease).
