Cleaning volume and tone controls on electric guitars, and controls on electric guitar amplifiers

Hi,
Which one of your spray cleaner products is the best for cleaning the volume and tone controls on electric guitars, and the contols on electric guitar amplifiers? Thank You.
Best Regards
Peter Fadoulakis

Morning,
I would use our DeoxIT Contact Cleaner/Rejuvenator. In spray, we have three forms; D5S-6 (has flushing action, may drip a little), DN5S-6N (quick dry -non drip solvent) and the D100S-2 (no solvents, 100% DeoxIT with metered, one-shot valve).
FIRST, turn off and unplug equipment.
On the amp most people use either the D5S-6 or DN5S-6N (I use the DN5S-6N). If you need true flushing action (a lot of dust dirt and crud on the surface) then the D5S-6 will be better (has flushing action, since the solvent evaporates slower).
On the guitar, I would probably use the D100S-2 with out solvents. The one you do not want to do is get any solvents on porous surface, just in case. Example, ivory, wood without coatings, etc.
Just stick the extension tube into the control (pre-prime the valve into a tissue or something), and spray maybe 2-3 times into the control. Then operate the control 10-15 times.

Good luck,
Mark
