Polyphenyl Ethers for Ribbon Cable Connectors?
I have reviewed your DeoxIT® GOLD flyer and think that it is appropriate for my application, intermittant electrical contact failure in ribbon cable connectors in a machine controller.
However, some of the folks I must convince are familiar with polyphenyl ethers for use in this application.
Your MSDS and technical literature does not identify your components. Is your product based on polyphenyl ethers? If not what class of materials is it based on?

Essentially, PFE's are more of a solid after the solvent evaporates, and they require a diluted solution (solvent). As a result, they’re not ideal for moving connections. They also require re-application once a surface is disturbed
Our product:
1. Deoxidizes - PFE is just a lubricant.
2. Moves, if and when the connector moves (through vibration or re-insertion)
3. Does NOT require a solvent - use pen/wipes, needle dispenser, etc.
There are simply more advantages, some of which are outlined in the first link above.
