Potential Disaster with Headset Mic

DeoxIT is the best darned thing I've run into in a long time. I have to tip my hat to you guys; this stuff actually works as well as the ads claim! You've all saved me a million headaches. I wish I could buy everyone in your company a beer.

I'm a member of a professional costuming group (www.501st.com), and a lot of us make and wear Star Wars costumes. We have a simple amp/mic set-up in our helmets to be more “authentic.”

We (the costuming group) get to do a lot of cool events, and travel quite a bit. A couple weeks ago, I was flown to New York (I live near Chicago) for the first time to do some promo stuff for an Off-Broadway show.
My helmet has worked fine for over 6 years, but once my helmet and I got to NYC, I had problems.

I was getting some loud fuzz constantly out of the speakers mounted in my helmet, and every now and then my speakers would just stop working. That had NEVER happened before and I can't tell you how irritated I was.

I was hundreds of miles from home and couldn't do much at all to fix my sudden problem! Plus, I was in NYC to do a job, but my costume (equipment) was failing me. I was NOT happy.

I mentioned my problem to the guy that stars in the show I was there to promote, since he also uses a headset mic in his show. He offered me a can of DeoxIT and said I should try it (he uses it on his headset). His exact words were, "That stuff is incredible!" I was skeptical, but tried a couple squirts. I sprayed it on the microphone plug and the receptacle... and everything worked perfectly!

I was absolutely bloody amazed! I'd never heard of your product before, but it saved my butt (and a lot of money). As soon as I got home, I ordered a can of DeoxIT.

I've used it on my cordless phones (no more jiggling the handset in order to get the battery charging); my cell phone (now the charger works the FIRST time I try to plug it in); and on the exhaust fan in my bathroom. That fan always took several minutes to get up to speed, even after I oiled the motor, but I sprayed DeoxIT on the plug and now the fan fires up immediately.

Your product is amazing! The fact that it's safe on plastic is key. The costuming group I'm in (which started this lengthy story) has about 3100 members worldwide and I know darned well that every single one of them will need to fix the exact same problem I had. I will absolutely recommend--not just that, but INSIST--that they all try DeoxIT.
I had to tell this tale to somebody. Cheers for making a truly great product. And thanks (personally) a million!!!
