Cleaning Controls & Faders on Giuitar Amp & Mixer
I have a mixer and a guitar amp, and I would like to clean and lube the controls & faders
I am considering buying some DeoxIT® FaderLube for my audio equipment, and I would like to know if this product has a cleaner in it, or do you recommend using something like DeoxIT® contact cleaner to clean, then DeoxIT® FaderLube to finish?
Thanks,
D. Medawar

The DeoxIT® FaderLube is a great product if you have an issue with drink spills. If that’s not the case, DeoxIT® 100% spray (#D100S-2) by itself is capable of treating both pots and faders with equal ease and efficiency. There is no solvent in the DeoxIT ® 100% spray, so it cleans by chemical action and lubricates the surfaces without stripping them.
The general rule of thumb is as follows:
1. Apply a couple of bursts of the DeoxIT® 100% spray, and move the potentiometers/faders back and forth 40-50 times to assist in breaking up the contaminants, and distribute the lubrication. Allow the product to continue working over night, if possible.
The following day, if the surface is not quite as you wish it to be, re-apply the DeoxIT® 100% one more time and repeat the process.
