Cell Phone, Batteries & Digital Calipers Repairs

I recently purchased the DeoxIT® pen version in hope of finally finding a contact cleaner that really worked. I definitely got much more than I could have hoped for.

After reading the included documentation, I wanted to find out just how many different items and applications I could use this product on. I immediately found a dim flashlight, and followed the instructions. I couldn't believe ANY product could guarantee results without changing my batteries that would make the light brighter than when new. To my surprise IT WORKED!!!

But that wasn't the half of it. I own a Samsung cellular phone, and the display stopped showing any text or graphics about two months ago. The DeoxIT® insert claimed it works on cellular phones/batteries, so I figured it couldn't hurt to get a little extra power to my phone, so, I proceeded to clean all the contacts on the battery, the phone and the charger. Basically, wherever there would be any electrical conductivity.

I worked the battery in and out of my phone a few times and waited the recommended two minutes, then cleaned any oxidization, dirt, grease and grime that may have been on the metals. Then I used the DeoxIT® GOLD pen I had purchased at the same time, and left a light film on the contacts. I repeated the process on the charger, and reassembled the phone.

Two days later, I remembered that I hadn’t charged the phone, and when I plugged it in, to my amazement, I saw the word "CHARGING" on the phone display! I had no idea there would be any solution for the display problem short of purchasing a new phone. I hadn’t even considered that DeoxIT® and DeoxIT® GOLD could have any affect whatsoever on the display function.

On a final note, I have a pair of digital calipers I use daily for my professional jewelry work. One has continually had problems for about two years. I've changed the battery a number of times and still the problem remained. I used the DeoxIT® and DeoxIT® GOLD pens on the caliper batteries, and the minute I put the battery back in, not only did it go on instantly, but the numbers in my readouts have remained steady and the measurements remain accurate with no more fluctuations!!!

These products are beyond incredible. I just placed another order for more of these particular products, as well as a number of others. If the results I’ve experienced are this fantastic, I’m interested to see what else CAIG may have for other applications.

I want to thank you all for resolving what seemed like an endless search for the perfect maintenance chemical line for all the items I work, play and live with on a daily basis. I am a jewelry designer, as well as a self-professed electronic gadget addict who lives in Hawaii. Although a wonderful place to live, the environment completely wreaks havoc on all moving objects.

That being the case, trust me when I say that as soon as my shipment arrives, EVERYTHING that is NOT a CAIG product will be out the door! I am doing a complete overhaul of my chemical cabinet. Why take up space with a sub-standard product, right?

Mahalo Nui Loa for a life changing experience. It's good to know that I will no longer have to make maintaining my equipment a hobby by protecting my equipment with CAIG products.
